Rebecca Mackinnon besides being a renowned blogger, she is also a media activist who passionately talks about issues on privacy, free expansion and governance. She is a former head of CNNs Beijing and Tokyo’s bureaus. Mackinnon states that we are at a constant fight for our freedom in the cyber world. In "Let's Take the Internet Back" she developed the hypothesis that the only way we can take our internet freedom from big business is the same way we always solve political problems. She really believes that becoming political activist towards internet freedom is the best way to reach a solution.
We have a more reasonable liberty when it comes to being on the internet compared to other countries like china. China is one of the leaders in censoring the internet. Most recently they removed a google service that is used often here in the USA. Compared to China we literally have all the liberty. Canada beats us with internet liberty because they can reach secret military papers through the internet. Why doesn't our government do that? it is almost like they're hiding something from us.
